INFINITE's Sunggyu made an appearance on 'Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook' and wowed everyone with his amazing vocals.
On the March 3rd broadcast of 'Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook', Sunggyu stood on the stage to perform and promote the title track "True Love" from his latest album '10 Stories'. Before this, however, he also covered Deulgukhwa's "Please" that took the audience and viewers alike off-guard as he beautifully sang the song with his strong voice and emotion.
After watching the performance, many netizens complimented the INFINITE member. Some of which could be read as the following, "I was so surprised because he was so good", "Sunggyu, your song is really good this time around~", "He's so good at singing...!!", and much more.
It seems like INFINITE’s leader Sunggyu is either a vampire or has found the fountain of youth, considering that his looks haven’t changed over the years.
On the March 3 episode of “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook,” host Yoo Hee Yeol told Sunggyu that he always looks the same whenever they meet. He then revealed photos of Sunggyu’s unchanging physical appearance during his transition from childhood to adulthood. The photos showed that the INFINITE member had remained the same throughout elementary, middle, and high school.
Yoo Hee Yeol expressed his shock that Sunggyu had maintained his fresh, youthful looks from his elementary school days. However, he pointed to Sunggyu’s middle school photo and jokingly asked, “But what happened to you in middle school? I think I saw someone like this in a drama before. I think it was ‘Prison Playbook,'” causing everyone to burst into laughter.
Sunggyu released his new solo album “10 Stories” on February 26 and is currently promoting his title track “True Love.”
INFINITE's Sunggyu reassured fans of his health and will be resuming solo promotions.
On March 2, a representative from Sunggyu's side said, "Sunggyu was unable to attend the 'Cultwo Show' yesterday as he was feeling sick. After receiving the show's consent, he did not make it to the show. Currently, he is feeling better and will resume his stage on 'Music Bank' as scheduled." This statement comes after it was revealed that the INFINITE member could not make it to the radio program due to feeling ill on March 1.
Meanwhile, Sunggyu recently released his first full solo album on February 26 and has been promoting actively. Glad to hear he's doing much better!
Three years since he celebrated being 27 with his second solo EP, INFINITE’s Kim Sung Kyu returned on Monday (Feb. 26) with his first full length album 10 Stories.
Fronted by lead single “True Love,” 10 Stories returns the K-pop singer to the ambient alt- and electro-pop stylings he’s previously explored on solo work. Soft rock instrumentals and plinking digitized beats propel the track, during which Kim Sung Kyu confesses his love to a friend through crisp, clear vocals. The track was released with a music video filmed in Hong Kong, which features Kim wandering the streets of the city as he expressively sings.
His first LP, the album features 10 tracks and was predominantly crafted by Nell’s Kim Jongwan. Juuno of Casker and Spaceboy also are credited for writing tracks on the album, while Epik High's Tablo, featured artist Punchnello, and Kim Sung Kyu provided lyrics on various album tracks.
The first INFINITE member to release a full-length album, Kim spends 10 Stories relaying different tales and emotions through each song.
Beginning with the moody "What Did I Say" featuring Punchnello, the album then moves into the airy “Don’t Move” featuring a ‘90s-sitcom-style saxophone solo, which is then followed by the single. The next track “Stuck On” incorporates a gentle piano and guitar melody, and plays up the squealing synths as it alternates between melancholic verses and an echoing hook of a chorus, while “Vanishing Days” differentiates itself as an orchestral ballad that puts Kim’s vocals front and center.
“Til Sunrise,” with Kim Jongwan appearing as a vocalist, features heavy vocal distortions to counter the previous track, and is followed by the apologetic rock-tinged “Sorry.” The Sung Kyu-penned soft electro-pop track “City of Angel,” the quirky “Sentimental,” and the acoustic piano ballad “Mirror” round out the album.
Nell’s vocalist Kim Jongwan produced each song on the album. The pair have previously collaborated multiple times in the past, and Sung Kyu has previously stated that his high school discovery of Nell's music led him to his current career path. The band was previously signed to Woollim Entertainment, the same label as INFINITE, but has since left the company and set up their own label, Space Bohemian.

There’s no end to the sweet things Jung Hyung Don has to say about INFINITE’s Sunggyu on “Carefree Travelers.”
On an upcoming episode of JTBC’s “Carefree Travelers” that will air on November 14, comedian Jung Hyung Don talks about his friendship with the idol, who joined the show in order to travel with him to Osaka. The other cast members express surprise that the two had managed to become such close friends in spite of their differences in age and career.
Jung Hyung Don shares, “About six years ago, when the program ‘Weekly Idol’ was just starting out, it was really hard to find guests who would appear on the show. The first guest to come on the show was INFINITE.”
He goes on to say, “Even after that, whenever I was going through a hard time, if I contacted Sunggyu, he would always be there to help me out. In many ways, he is my closest and most trusted younger friend.”
The other cast members are impressed by Jung Hyung Don’s warm praise for his longtime friend, declaring, “Sunggyu is now the official younger friend of ‘Carefree Travelers.'”
“Carefree Travelers” airs on Tuesdays at 10:50 p.m. KST, with the current lineup including Sunggyu, Jung Hyung Don, Kim Min Jong, Kim Seung Soo, Lee Yeon Bok, and others.
